Paris Fashion Week Winter 2023 Top 10 Shoes – Shoes News

[ad_1]

Paris Fashion Week is a long, average week and a half of runway shows, presentations and events that give us a new idea of what fashion looks like in fall. Although most of the fall winter 23 ready to wear season was more stocky, clean lines, more minimalist and more gray and neutral than last year’s party wear, PFW still had a statement making a lot of clothes and accessories.

Footwear also straddles the line between a bit of practicality and a bit of dramatic flair. Gone are most of the extra embellishments (sequins, sparkles and beads have been taken down); Soft skins and dark neutrals were the tonal iterations. The sparkle and shine expression was still there, just a little over-the-top.

Here’s a list of the top 10 shoes from Paris Fashion Week Autumn/Winter ’23.

1. Roger Vivier’s Bright Mary Janes

Vivier’s usual flair for styling was still present at the brand’s Paris Fashion Week presentation. But for Winter 23, creative director Gerardo Felloni explored new dramatic ideas, some from sheer crystals and pastel satins to supple leather in blacks and browns, while also switching to body-wrapped silk and satin shoes and incorporating haute couture-inspired accessories into other dress-like accessories.

Amidst all the drama, a pair of Mary Janes in yellow tartan (Fall Winter 23 trend), outlined in black patent leather and stacked heels had tiny crystal Vivier clusters, just the right amount of wearability.

2. Christian Louboutin graphic black and white boots

For all the talk of stilettos, Mr. Louboutin’s boots are sometimes overshadowed—which is a shame, because the designer reliably puts out strong statement shoes worth investing in every season. This time, Louboutin presented a series of black and white boots with pointed heels, both calf-high and over-the-knee for a look that is at once retro, modern and timeless.

3. Laurence Duck’s innovative dance shoes

His love for Broadway shows and the theater inspired the shoe maven to create a new flat dance shoe for fall. At first glance, they look like other jazz shoes, with soft leather, lace straps and a little ballet shape. But a closer look reveals stretch panels on the sides and not a single full piece, but two – a heel and toe pad, with a curved stretch panel midsole. The construction, which took months to work with the Daccad manufacturer, offers a new level of freedom for dancing, playing or everyday life.

4. Valentino feather combat boots

For the brand’s Fall Winter 23 collection, creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli looked to the masculine version of evening wear – the black tie tuxedo – to subvert those codes of elegance and femininity. Black ties were paired with everything from mini dresses to feather coats, giving eveningwear a more casual and even demure touch. Dresses were accented with monochrome versions and leather helped give the collection a bit of a date.

A pair of shiny black leather combat boots, worn with Rockstuds on the welts and massive black feathers on the shaft, marked this exploration of masculine and feminine duality in evening wear.

5. Balmain velvet slingback platforms

Never one to shy away from embellishment, creative director Olivier Rousteing really toned down the usual glitz for Balmain’s Fall Winter ’23 collection, instead focusing on 70s and 80s-inspired silhouettes crafted in a rich palette. Yet there were still moments of sensuality, and a pair of sling velvet platforms in low tones looked both comfortable and glam – with a true vintage feel.

6. Aquazzura crystal sandals

There weren’t many strappy shoes on offer for Winter 23, but Aquazura founder and creative director Edgardo Osorio knows what heels will resonate, season after season. Ari’s sandals feature silver metallic straps and straps with delicate crystal embellishments that add just the right amount of glitz – a true evening neutral.

7. Lowe’s embossed leather boots

We’ve come to expect more sneakers from Jonathan Anderson. For Fall Winter 23, there was still plenty to choose from, from oversized velvet bows to trouser-like ankle boots. But there were also slim knee boots paired with shiny leather that emerged as a true investment piece that showcased the Spanish brand’s heritage of true leather craftsmanship.

8. Bruno Frisoni Denim Pumps

It’s been a few seasons since the shoemaker relaunched its own label. The designer is taking his time to launch new styles, and for Fall Winter ’23 he improved an idea on the denim pump, removing the crystal rivet details and adding real particles to the strong jeans, which are effortlessly shaped (no easy task for this dense fabric) with a small square. On a pump with an anatomical toe box.

9. Van Noten’s Brocket platform dries boots

This isn’t the first time the Belgian designer has released a pair of shoes, and it’s certainly not the first time he’s graced the stage. But the combination’s consistency gave Van Noten some gravitas for Fall Winter ’23 ready-to-wear. This season, Van Noten’s platform comes with a shapely metal heel; The brooch in burnished gold is not new to the designer but is a trendy shade for the season.

10. Chanel Camellia boots

For the 23rd anniversary of Winter, Virginie Viard dedicated the entire Chanel collection to Camellia. Like Coco Chanel, the most popular flower is a familiar motif for the brand. A pair of small Victorian style soft leather boots with big bows, also soft black leather, plus a single white leather camellia on each foot, a small pearl in the middle.
