Women’s tennis took down WKU in dominant fashion

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State women’s tennis team (5-2) dominated Western Kentucky (6-4) today in dominating fashion, beating the Lady Toppers 7-0 Saturday afternoon at the Northwest YMCA.

Soon after, Maria Polishchuk teamed with Alison Mulville to clinch a 6-2 loss against WKU’s No. 2 seed Sofia Blanco and Rachel Hermanova.

Ball State continued its dominance in singles as the Cardinals beat the Lady Toppers 1-0. Emma Peeler Saida took Hernandez down the court in two straight, and Kaplan immediately followed with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over WKU’s No. 3 player.

Three of the four courts were tightly contested, but Polishchuk claimed the Ball State title with a 6-3, 6-1 loss to Paola Cortez on the top court.
