TikToker lists cheap satin (left) and flimsy jewelry (right) as two major no-no’s in the fashion world. Many of her followers criticized her for criticizing the affordable outfits and for going over the expensive options.
‘The things that make you look cheap,’ said the expert, ‘my name and I do trend forecasting.
The first thing we have is cheap satin, this type of satin is made from quality silk and polyester and is easy to pull.
She explains that you can see lines showing the weave of the fabric on cheap satin, which indicates a lower quality.
‘Go for double satin instead, it’s thicker and heavier and easier to wear,’ says Eloise.
For a ‘high quality finish’, she offers dresses from Silk Laundry or Bec & Bridge for $280 to $320.
The comments upset many of Eloise’s followers who said they can’t afford expensive products.
‘Most of us can’t afford new silk clothes,’ said one woman.
For “high quality,” Eloise recommends dresses from Silk Laundry ($320 left) or Beck & Bridge ($280 right).
Another wrote: ‘It looks so cheap because I can’t afford real satin.’
‘How not to look cheap: have money,’ wrote another.
‘Read the part,’ commented another.
In the past, Eloise had criticized damaged jewelry as a cheap gift.
If you see damaged jewelry leaving a green mark on your skin or a pendant with a black design on the inside, it looks very obvious, she says.
“I’m not saying buy expensive jewelry, I’m not saying buy high-quality jewelry,” she said.
