If you’re a United Airlines Elite member like me, you probably haven’t received any United baggage tags since 2019. Fortunately, this is changing, although this time you’ll have to ask for it in the mail.
Premier Silver, Gold, Platinum and 1K members who meet the 2022 criteria can request a new branded complimentary bag made from recycled materials on the airline’s website.
That’s the point about United’s complementary bag labels.

How to order a United Airlines bag tag
Ordering a United Airlines baggage tag is easy. First, log into your MileagePlus account and go to the My United home screen. Select “View Premier Status Tracker”.
A new tab will open taking you to United’s new Premier Status Tracker. If it’s your first time here, you’ll see a welcome letter and welcome video from CEO Scott Kirby. You can also request baggage tags that United will send to the address on your MileagePlus account within eight to 10 weeks.

Before the outbreak, United sent out welcome letters, baggage tags, drink coupons and physical membership cards to its Premier members in membership kits. In fact, as a Premier 1K member, United once sent me a cocktail coaster, and the following year, I received a wireless Premier 1K-branded portable charger.
Physical membership kits have not – and probably will not – ship to the record number of Premier members this year.

In United’s Premier Stat branding, the Premier Silver and Premier 1K luggage tags are the same color apart from white, making it difficult to tell the two apart. The airline reinvented the iconic luggage tags, creating them from recycled materials.

American and Delta luggage tags
Delta Air Lines In 2022, it sent bag tags to its medallion elites who met the status requirements. Several TPG employees who hold Delta Medallion status received baggage tags last week.
American Airlines sends out membership kits — containing personalized luggage tags — to its top executive platinum elites. Some Executive Platinum members have received their membership kits.

After a three-year hiatus, United Elite baggage tags are back, but you must request them through your MileagePlus profile. Only Premier members who meet full 2022 status requirements are eligible for baggage tags. A TPG reader who registered in the Bilt United status contest confirmed that he was unable to order luggage tags.
