Travel Market Report is today releasing its latest research, Group Travel Outlook to 2022, in which it looks at the increasingly popular and profitable segment of travel advisors.

The survey found here takes insights from 851 travel consultants, most of whom are ICs working with host agencies (52%), to find out what works and what doesn’t work for consultants selling groups.

“We hope that the information in this Outlook on Group Travel will help you in those tasks and also help providers understand where they can help you the most. We hope that those people who don’t have years of experience can look at the report and close the gap. Those who have that experience can improve how they work, even if they’ve been doing it for years,” he said. said Daniel McCarthy, Editor-in-Chief of Travel Market Report.

The survey reaffirmed the popularity of group travel among successful consultants – 73% of those surveyed said they sell group travel and 29% reported sales of more than $1 million in 2019, while 13% sold more than $2 million.

Additionally, while the focus of some is growing in some other areas, the best way to find groups remains word of mouth or referrals from existing clients.

The report highlights the biggest challenges facing consultants selling groups, with budget concerns becoming an increasingly important focus for clients. That comes more than managing customer requirements for group travel, which is time-consuming and with Covid-induced restrictions.

Consultants expressed concerns about what suppliers could do to increase their group sales (fam trips, improved call center operations and improved booking tools topped the list).
