As the 79th edition of the Venice Film Festival continues this week, celebrity fashion moments like Noah Baumbach’s “White Noise” premiere, Greta Gerwig and Adam Driver weren’t missed. Olivia Wilde, Harry Styles and Florence Puch, as well as “Blonde” – Netflix’s Marilyn Monroe biopic with Ana de Armas.

On Friday, Timothee Chalamet went viral at the “Bones and All” premiere of Haider Ackerman’s Backless. This Monday, Florence Pugh made her highly-anticipated red carpet appearance in a gorgeous handmade Valentino gown for the “Don’t Worry Darley” show.

The festival, which ends on September 10, is the oldest event of its kind, having been founded in 1932 — and thanks to the romantic backdrop of the floating city, it’s one of the most visually appealing. Paparazzi shots arriving in private water taxis evoke images of old Hollywood glamour, and so far red carpet moments have followed suit – with many A-listers opting for archival couture over the latest runway looks. From actor Julianne Moore’s embellished Valentino cap to model Mariacarla Boscono’s revealing Jean Paul Gaultier gown, there’s no shortage of high-octane outfits with more to come.
