County cross country teams travel across state to compete Saturday – Hamilton County Reporter

Rainy weather on Saturday caused some problems for the cross country world, although some of the meets with Hamilton County teams were able to run to the finals.

The Noblesville girls team traveled to Columbus North for a showdown between the Millers and Bull Dogs, two teams that are among the best in the state. But the meet was called off after rain forced a halt to the race.

Meanwhile, he managed to finish a big meet in a big place: the Hometown Savings Bank State Preview Meet at the Laverne Gibson Championship Course in Terre Haute. The Fishermen’s Boys team and both Guerin Catholic teams were at the meet and each team did well.

The Tigers finished third in the team with 69 points. Zionsville won with 45 points and Valparaiso tied the Fishers for second with 68 points. The Tigers were led by sophomore Sam Quagliaroli, who placed fourth in 16 minutes, 6:8 seconds.

Guerin Catholic is good for sixth place with a total of 243 points. Jack Weber led the Golden Eagles with 12.^Th.

In the girls varsity competition, Green Catholic finished fifth as a team with 140 points. The Golden Eagles had an individual winner, Bridget Gallagher cruised to victory in 19:30.1.

The Greyhounds boys team scored 40 points and had five runners in 10 individual wins. Carmel’s first five runners finished sixth through 10th^Th, with Connor Mallon starting sixth. He was followed by Kyle Grove (seventh), Kevin Sweeney (eighth), Liam Ohman (ninth) and Kiefer Jay (10th).^Th).

The Westfield boys placed sixth with 176 points. Sam Hinds led the Shamrocks with 21.^St.

In the girls race, Carmel finished a close second to Franklin Central. The Flashes scored 55 points to win the game. The Greyhounds and the host Bulldogs combined for 56 points, but Carmelos finished in sixth runner-up.

The Tigers scored 260 points to place ninth in the women’s Chuck Schlemmer Elite Tournament. Emma Schwertfeger led the Fishers individually with 37^Th place.
