Nike leads NFT success by revenue while fashion shines on Pepsi, Time magazine.

The fashion industry’s top NFT projects have outperformed brand projects. time Magazine, Budweiser and Pepsi by revenue, in both the primary and secondary markets, according to new data collected from the Ethereum Blockchain.

Nike, thanks to its new acquisition Rtfkt, was the most successful in terms of revenue, recording $185.3 million. CloneX’s collection of avatars makes up about half of that. Analysis of the data shown Vogue businessIt suggests that Nike is ahead of Dolce & Gabbana, Tiffany, Gucci, Adidas and Lacoste.

While such individual metrics are available through public blockchain records, performance analysis of big-brand NFT projects on the crypto analytics platform Dune, created by Stanford student and crypto researcher Noah Levine, enables a comprehensive comparison of brand projects over time and includes all NFT drops. It is given a brand name. For example, Nike Rtfkt released more than 10 sets of NFTs. The dashboard includes monthly trading volume and information about the number of additional crypto transactions completed by each owner.

The 13 brands included in the dashboard, while not an exhaustive list of all branded NFTs, reflect the most popular in terms of cultural focus. Of these, five are the only fashion brands whose NFT revenue is $10 million higher and which includes comparisons with entertainment, media and beverage brands. (The dashboard does not include Louis Vuitton, Prada, Balmain or Burberry, which have introduced various NFTs.)

This revenue data is readily available given blockchain’s transparency, but a high number—especially for trendy NFTs—has raised eyebrows among investors like Castle Island Ventures general partner Nick Carter, founder of blockchain data aggregator Coinmetrics.io. When Carter sees such high figures, he “pre-verifies” the data and they appear to be correct. (Levin declined an interview at the request of his employer’s visa, where he is a crypto product intern.)
