The popular Caribbean cruise destination meets all travel requirements

Popular Caribbean cruise destination St. Kitts has waived vaccination and screening requirements for all visitors, effective immediately. Now the islands accept vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers without showing a negative test upon arrival.

St. Kitts and Nevis travel updates

The Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis updated its travel requirements on August 15, 2022, for all visitors, citizens, residents and international travelers, accommodating all vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers at Caribbean borders.

Effective immediately, all visitors will be able to enter the country without confirming a negative Covid-19 test. These travel reforms were sponsored by the Prime Minister, the Honorable Dr. Terrance Drew, who serves as Minister of Health.

Additionally, the dual island nation between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, St. Kitts and Nevis, does not require guests to check-in upon arrival, giving guests greater travel flexibility.

Travelers are advised to follow basic health and safety protocols, such as frequent hand washing and hygiene, observing physical distancing and encouraging mask wearing.

All travelers visiting St. Kitts and Nevis must complete an Immigration and Customs ED form, which includes a Customs and Border Protection form.

Previously, visitors to the islands were required to be fully vaccinated and tested for Covid before arriving.

St. Kitts is home to four ports, but most cruise ships dock in a terminal called Port Zante, which is within walking distance of Basseterre, the capital of St. Kitts. The port has two berths capable of handling the largest ships in the world.

Charlestown, the capital of Nevis, houses the island’s main shipping port. Cruise ships visiting Nevis can anchor offshore and ferry passengers to the harbor pier on tender boats.

Requirements for cruise destinations change

St. Maarten is currently open to vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers, but a test result is still required for travelers and those who have recovered from Covid-19 to enter within nine months.
