Nina Parker on building her fashion company, growing her career and talking about new Netflix show ‘Buy My House’

“I wanted to make sure I was saying things that were relevant in the moment,” she said. “It’s hard to get a job in TV if you don’t have something to say because people don’t want someone who says, ‘Look at the pretty colors,’ they want someone who actually has something to say. Speak up.

Throughout her career, she has hosted many celebrities, including Zendaya, Beyonce And more before she started owning a business with her fashion collection housed in Macy’s.

In May 2021, Parker launched the Nina Parker collection exclusively for Macy’s, making her the first black woman-owned brand to design plus-size.

Between working as a reporter and designing her fashion lines, Parker is a busy, busy woman who is now taking her first vacation in years.

“Here’s the thing. You dream about things, then you get them. And it’s like you have to work hard to keep up,” Parker said. “I’m working a lot. I’m not an advocate for it, but I haven’t taken a vacation in years.
