The husband-wife team behind the fashion brand TOCCIN’s Meteoric Rise

In the year Launched in 2019, lifestyle collection brand TOCCIN (pronounced Throw) has achieved remarkable success in a short span of time. Founded by fashion industry veterans, husband and wife team Alex and Michael Tochin have created a brand that reflects clean, effortless style. Both originally from Florida, the comfort and convenience we seek in this tropical environment is evident in their designs, making TOCCIN a great favorite brand for us.

Marrying community spirit with TOCCIN’s core mission and fine line of must-have wardrobe staples with statement pieces, the brand has amassed a growing cult following every day. Now in store at Saks Fifth Avenue in Boca Raton, I chatted with the fashion forward couple to learn more about their latest endeavors while successfully navigating the challenging retail landscape and balancing parenthood.

As Floridians, what are your fondest memories of growing up here?

Our best memories here are spending time with family! In addition to growing up in Orlando and Miami, we spent a lot of time in Florida with our children and families. Florida will always be a place that reminds us of such great family memories that we cherish.

After working in the fashion industry for many years, what inspired you to work together to create your own brand?

Our friends and family have been coming to us for styling advice for years. After graduating from Parsons, I worked for various fashion houses. While Michael was working at KAUFMANFRANCO, we decided to bring our combined expertise to a bigger stage and brought the stylist to T.

They started with a digital platform helping women talk about fashion and trends in an approachable way. How did that happen and turn into TOCCIN?

Our rapid growth on Instagram inspired the creation of TOCCIN. Tossin started with our daily conversations with women around us and those who follow us. We wanted to create a line that catered to the needs and wants of these women looking for fashion-forward clothing.

Launched in 2019, your brand is brand new. What do you primarily stand for in your brand?Is success growing, especially in the pandemic and crowded retail environment?

Our community! As we’ve grown the brand we’ve met great women along the way and we’re so grateful to everyone who follows and supports us.

HeWorking with your spouse is great, but it can also be difficult. How is the dynamic between the two of you? And have you learned anything new about each other by working together?

We work well together as a team. Since starting TOCCIN, we’ve learned a lot about each other, especially how we work together. When we are home with our kids and weekends we prioritize focusing on family time!

Where do you get your inspiration from?

We think of inspiration from everything, but for Michael, he really draws inspiration from Alex!

What are the three key components every TOCCIN customer should have?
