CP Communications has opened a new office in Los Angeles, bringing the company back to LA after a 10-year absence.
“Business models have changed, and we have changed with them,” he said Kurt Heitmann, CEO, CP Communications and Red House Streaming. “We are focusing on high-end 4K production gear, RF camera packages, multi-camera PTZ production systems, and more for broadcast and AV customers.”
The LA office is led by General CP Communications General Manager Ian McKelvey, who joined the company in late 2019. “And to best serve that market, you have to have boots on the ground. Through our Red House Streaming division, we want to showcase our solutions, from traditional broadcast products to captive cellular live streaming solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for CP Communications.”
McKelvey expects that a presence in Southern California will give the company the opportunity to collaborate with local design groups and attract corporate clients. The new office will help bring REMI’s production and live streaming business back to Red House Stream’s (RHS) studios in St. Petersburg, Florida.
“Coming out of the last couple of years, people don’t necessarily want to fly to the studio,” McKelvey said. “They’re starting to realize how much you can do with streaming. There’s a lot of opportunity for our streaming business, and we offer many different solutions for the corporate video market. By warehousing our hardware locally and providing local technical support and expertise here, we can better support our customers and their projects.”
While LA is the primary focus point, the new CP Communications office will provide better access to other clients in the region. “With an office on the West Coast, we can get gear to markets like Las Vegas and San Diego quickly and efficiently,” McKelvey said. “We also have some great customers in Northwest Portland and Washington state, so we can better serve them.”
