Ten-time Billboard Magazine Award winner Craig Abaya calls his upcoming album-EP a “fashion statement.” However, the songs are not meant to make a fashion statement. Rather, it’s about making a fashion statement. And it’s not about clothes or hairstyles, but about trends in society, sometimes in harmful ways.

The first single from the album was released in June and is titled “Living in Analog”. Abaya describes it as follows: “It is a song about a life that is drowned in tricks that make us control ourselves but the wind controls us.” The single’s cover photo of Abaya consists of thousands and zeroes (a binary code), which when translated, describes his engagement on the web first, leading to social media.
Other social trends are explored in the songs “Strange New Fashion” and “Sex Sales”. Then there is “Topsy Turvy” which is a response to the growing lack of empathy in society today. “We are being poisoned by our own medicine,” he declares.
Amidst these songs’ bold lyrical observations, Abaya provides emotional respite with instrumental passages.
As usual, Abaya played all the instruments on the songs and included several guest appearances on others. They are Bing Collora, Carmen Milagro, DJ Qbert, Fred Wolford, Lena Shabanova, Nisha Anand, and family members Daniel Abaya and Marisa Abaya.
The full album will be available in late August on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Deezer and other popular stores and streaming services.
