with the release of Horizon Forbidden West and Elden Ring, it’s been a big couple of weeks for AAA games. But even if you’re not neck-deep in either of these titles by now, it’s a great weekend to pick up some discounted games, headphones, or other gaming accessories. Have a look below to expand your gaming library or upgrade your peripherals on the cheap.
Special offer for Gear readers: Get a 1-year subscription to WIRED for $ 5 ($ 25 off). This includes unlimited access to WIRED.com and our print magazine (if you’d like). Subscriptions help fund the work we do every day.
Headphone Deals
The SteelSeries Arctis Prime is one of our favorite gaming headsets for under $ 100, and right now it’s way under. You get a comfy ski-goggle-style headband, and the Prime are fairly good at filtering out background noise, despite lacking active noise cancellation. If you’re OK with a corded gaming headset, this is a great choice.
These headphones have some of the best noise-canceling technology out there, so you’ll sound crystal clear to your Discord friends despite the background noise in your home. (And you won’t hear anything but them and the game too.) This deal is also available at Target.
The AirPods Max (8/10, WIRED Recommends) are too expensive, and while this discount isn’t huge, it’s not very common. They have some of the best build quality, sound quality, and comfort among the headsets we’ve tested. This is close to the lowest price we’ve seen for them.
If you’re looking for a pair of earbuds for your Switch, it’s hard to do better than the Galaxy Buds2 (9/10, WIRED Recommends). They come with active noise cancellation, a dual-driver array to deliver excellent bass, and IPX2 water resistance. They’re also our favorite set of earbuds for Android phones, so you can cover both bases with one pair.
Gaming Accessory Deals
I love my little Stream Deck. This customizable array of 15 LCD keys is useful for more than just gaming. Whether you want to use it to automate parts of your Twitch broadcast or just to get work done, it’s a handy, unique accessory. It doesn’t often go on sale, and outside of one really big price drop during Black Friday, this is about as cheap as we’ve ever seen it.
It’s hard to spend any time on Twitch without seeing this microphone pop up in someone’s stream. Aside from rivaling the famed Blue Yeti on sound quality (for a USB mic), it also features eye-catching LEDs built into the microphone itself for a striking look. This is perfect if you need a microphone that’s going to spend a lot of time on camera.
If you’re OK with a 1080p monitor (as opposed to something higher-res), the Samsung Odyssey G3 is a great 27-inch external screen. It supports AMD’s FreeSync tech (great if your PC or laptop uses an AMD graphics card), and it has a 144-Hz refresh rate, which should be more than enough for most fast-paced games. The included adjustable stand even lets you rotate the monitor into portrait orientation for work sessions. We’ve seen it drop to $ 200 on occasion, but this is still a great deal.
Video Game Deals
There’s a nice selection of game deals this week, for those who want something new and fun to play that isn’t a brand-new $ 70 AAA title.
