Turradar, a tour guide, is rushing to the venue.

At the end of last year, Touradar created an international partnership with the Flight Center Travel Team, merging the Touring Center’s stock and location content with the Flight Center Agent Forum.

Earlier this year, Touradar launched a partner portal, which allows travel consultants to search and order day-to-day adventures for their clients, with an average commission of 8%. Registration is free.

Chief Executive Officer Travis Pitman hopes Turradar’s great relationship with the travel agent community is just beginning.

About 2,000 agents have been registered for Partner Portal, and Pitman said there are about 1,000 in North America.

“We’re seeing great success when you can’t get this product without a contract with these guides,” Pitman said. “You haven’t been able to get a commission on some products before.”

TourRadar offers products from large suppliers such as G Adventures and Globus, but also from small guides and DMCs around the world. In total, it offers 50,000 multi-day adventures around the world, more than half of which can be captured instantly.

And Pitman hopes to establish relationships with a number of agency groups, including the Consortium.

How TourRadar started

Pitman founded Turradar in 2010 with his brother Shawn after the two traveled to Croatia. They booked a trip for $ 5,000, but when they arrived, no one was there. Eventually they found the supplier, but their general experience – their inability to reach 24/7 customer support and not realizing that their money had been wasted – prompted them to start building the Turradar market.

It was originally designed to be a website for people to exchange travel photos, but Pitman said the rise of Facebook means turning. It was then that the company began digitalizing the multi-day tour site. Today, Tourradar offers a full day tour that can be fully booked by more than 2,500 tour operators.

Pitman believes Turradar stock is the largest multi-day collection.
