The BDO School Highway Round goes to Kearsney College

Kearsney College took the third round of the 2017 BDO Inter-school Quiz held at Westville Girls High School on 14 March 2017.

In a close race, the four members of the 10th/11th grade winning team scored a total of 97 points to defeat the team from Westville Boys High School. Michael Lee, Jethro Strydom, Hlumela Mngomezulu, Daniel Phillips celebrated their victory with the 15 teams that participated in their honor.

In this year’s competition, a total of 38 schools from Durban and Pietermaritzburg are participating in four regional rounds. The top two teams of four Grade 10 or 11 students from each round advance to the final round of general knowledge quizzes at Clifton College on May 2.

They will compete to become the quiz champion and the chance to nominate a school in need to receive a R10,000 book donation from independent, community-minded bookstore, books and books and Kip McGrath Education and Student. Development centers.

“The pressure is on as we prepare for the championships,” said Sally Jukes, BDO’s audit and assurance partner, “and we’ve seen good humor as competitors battle it out for first place.” They impressed with their knowledge and behavior throughout the season.

The quiz is in its eighth year since it was developed by Durban auditing, accounting and consulting firm BDO.

The schools that participated in the highway this year are Kearsney College, Thomas More College, Westville Boys High School, Westville Girls High School, Star College.

Last year, the winners from the Highway Region were Westville Boys High School.
