Libra: Bejeweled Eyes

Call it the Euphoria effect as the HBO series undoubtedly influenced the popularity of crystal face jewels. On the runways of Etro’s spring 2022 collection, models presented a more grown-up version of rhinestone makeup, created by makeup artist Lisa Butler. Under-eye rhinestones in a mix of metallic, iridescent and pearly finishes were strategically placed to frame the lower eye area. This is the perfect way to add drama to your spring makeup, especially for festivals and parties, without looking too over the top. You’ll need tweezers, nail art rhinestones, lash glue and a bit of creativity to pull off the look.

Scorpio: A Crimson Red Lip

A red lip is a timeless makeup look that’ll never go out of style, and sometimes it’s all you need to spice up your spring makeup looks. Get inspiration from Saint Laurent’s Paloma Picasso-inspired spring collection. Models were draped in pieces inspired by the muse’s iconic vintage wardrobe, and styled with statement jewelry, huge sunglasses and a bright red lip, resulting in powerful looks that exuded fierce confidence and femininity. Rock your classic red lips in satin, shiny or matte finishes (whichever you prefer). To apply your favorite red lipstick with crisp and clean edges, use a lip liner first, and then fill out lips with lipstick using a lip brush.

Sagittarius: Flushed & Blushed

Makeup artist Pat McGrath presented her version of a fantasy beach holiday mood at the Anna Sui SS20 spring show with models in sun-kissed, blush-on-blush looks. To emulate the ethereal makeup look, opt for a glowing base and lightly brushed brows, and then layer blush across cheekbones and eyelids. Finish with a touch of lip gloss. The key is to choose the right blush, preferably a creamy formula that ties in with the glowy skin, and thoroughly blend it out for a halo-like effect. Pat McGrath also dabbed a touch of metallic eye shadow onto the lids to liven up the look.

Capricorn: After-Dark Eyes

The after-dark eye makeup look sits between a freshly done smoky eye and a completely smoked-out eye look – this version is softer and a tad more diffused for a worn-in look. A perfect example of the look was on display at the Altuzarra spring 2022 show, where models combined this eye makeup with flushed cheeks and brushed-up brows. Pink and gold colors were mixed with deep browns to blend seamlessly into natural skin tones without lacking intensity. We recommend using fingertips or a small makeup brush to blend. Finish the eye makeup with a few swipes of mascara.

Aquarius: Metallic Accents

Makeup trends from the spring shows were all about being expressive, bold and glittery. Kim Shui’s runway saw models sporting glimmering winged eye shadows in bright colors with touches of metallic accents. These empowering and unapologetically bold eye makeup looks were created by professional MUAs Kento Utsubo and Ayaka NIhei to capture the Y2K spirit.

Pisces: Double Cat-Eyes

To step up your graphic liner game, look to this season’s many eye-catching eyeliner designs for inspo. The easiest liner look to recreate has got to be the double cat-eyes from Dior’s spring / summer 2022 show – simply draw another flick starting from the edge of your lower lash line to mirror the usual feline flick. Dior’s creative and image director Peter Philips told Grazia magazine that the look is “graphic but light, in a fresh and cheeky spirit with a sixties vibe.” Does this eye makeup look familiar? Maddy from Euphoria (played by Alexa Demie) also sported the look in season two of the show!
