Peanut butter and jelly are still top of mind for JM Smucker ( SJM ).

CEO Mark Smucker called the sweet and savory duo the company’s “bread and butter,” especially after Uncrustables and fruit expansion drove sales last quarter. Net sales for the U.S. consumer food business jumped 9% to $434.2 million, driven by Smucker’s Uncrustables frozen sandwiches, up 38%, and Smucker’s Fruit Distribution, up 12%, in the company’s fiscal-third-quarter results.

Now, as it looks to make Uncrustables a billion-dollar brand, it’s doubling down on the classic combination.

We’re going to continue to push that, expanding our second facility in Colorado to produce more sandwiches, and then building a third facility in Alabama that will meet the overall demand we’re seeing. market,” Smucker said.

As the company seeks to achieve that billion-dollar valuation, it is expanding innovation under the brand.

In September, Uncrustables introduced Meat and Cheese Bites in two options, Uncrustable Ham and Cheddar and Turkey and Colby Jack. The following November, Smucker told Yahoo Finance that the additions were “really good” despite a relatively soft launch.

“As we’re launching some of those meat-based bites, what’s good for us is proving that the Uncrustables platform can live outside of peanut butter and jelly,” he told Yahoo Finance LIVE today.

This comes as JM Smucker’s prices at the grocery store continue to increase from people eating at home. “We continue to have great performance … consumers staying at home and eating at home, which obviously benefits our business,” Smucker said.
