Manning told Fox Business’ Connell McShane on Friday that life after the NFL has been an “exciting journey” that has allowed him to pursue interests he “never had time to do” as a professional athlete.

“My plan was to pursue things that I didn’t know when I was playing. And I had other interests, so when I finished playing football, I said I’m going to sit out for a year. To have more conversations, talk to more people. Find out what I want to pursue and what I’m interested in. So doing that and finding some different things to do.” It’s been a fun ride,” Manning said on “The Big Money Show.”

After Eli Manning retired, he created “The Manningcast” with his five-time NFL MVP brother Peyton Manning. The show is a Monday Night Football live alternative broadcast primarily on ESPN.

McShane has touted how “popular” the broadcast is — but Manning’s success is largely due to his close relationship with big brother Peyton.

Giants great Eli Manning offered advice to Daniel Jones before his first career playoff game.

“Well, I think there can be a lot of ways to watch sports. And I think we’ve found that,” Manning explained. “And I think it’s just our relationship with Peyton and I, the fact that we can attack each other, we can make fun of each other, we don’t get too emotional. We don’t get upset about that. Great guests.”

“Every sport has a different way of looking at it,” continued Eli Manning. To get more people to watch these games. And different people want different things.

Eli Manning’s commercial ventures extend beyond “The Manningcast.” He explained that throughout his journey after professional education, his focus has been on teaching about business.

“It’s really just about learning about business and picking up some new things and starting over,” he said. “And obviously I’m still involved in football and I’m doing things. A lot of the business stuff we’re looking at is related to sports and the world of sports.”

After retiring, Manning joined private equity firm Brand Velocity Partners and partnered with Verizon to become the face of their “Welcome Unlimited” social campaign.

Asked about the NFL playoffs and Super Bowl LVII, Manning said he’s looking forward to seeing four “great games” this weekend led by four great quarterbacks.

“You’ve got a starter and a great track record in Brook Purdy. Obviously, as you know, Mahomes is injured so there’s a little bit of drama and stuff going on, but they’re all playing good football. I expect it to be a tight game. And come down to the last few possessions, as it always does in these championship games,” he said. Manning said.
