Hundreds of Virginia workers have resigned in the past two months since the government announced Glen Yangkin’s new telecom policy.
The new policy will allow workers to return to the office due to the closure of cholera-related workplaces, which will create jobs at home.
Many regional workers have chosen to resign due to lack of flexibility and benefits at home.
More than 300 government workers have resigned since the policy was announced, WRIC-TV reports.

The plan to return to office, announced early May 5, requires employees who wish to remain at home to undergo a comprehensive approval process that includes the signature of Yangkin’s chief executive.

“Government employees who apply to continue their television service had to go through a three-step approval process. Those who wanted one day a week had to get permission from their supervisor. Everyone who wanted two days a week had to get permission from their department. Cabinet secretary. Effective July 5.
About 183 were fired by the Virginia Department of Transportation, with 28 citing telecom opportunities.

According to the report, the Virginia Department of Health has announced 78 resignations, with 37 employees from the Virginia Employment Commission, seven from the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development, and six from the Virginia Emergency Management Department.
While more than 21,000 government employees are eligible for telecoms, the WRIC reports that many government employees are unfit to work from home, including police, correctional officers, and health care workers.

Critics of Yangkin’s policy say it is unnecessarily pushing good workers.
Shortly after the policy was implemented, Virginia State Senator Gazala Hashmi, a Democrat, said, “Despite our efforts, Yangkin refused to reconsider his brutal executive action and pushed forward regardless of Telecom’s long-standing government policies.”

“Our Commonwealth lacks talent, skills and institutional knowledge. Virginia is suffering,” she added.

Yangkin was elected president of Virginia last year, making his career a milestone in his career.
