Osseo businessman Mark Schultz is back on the city council after a two-year absence and is ready to handle city business.

“I’m really excited to be back on the council … I really feel like we’re a very cohesive group that can do things together, which I haven’t really seen in the last couple of years,” Mark Schultz said. Osseo City Council

New water meters are among the reasons Oseo residents have higher water bills.

Schulz said the city council is investigating what caused the increase in residents’ water bills.

“When we get everything right, I feel confident in different things,” Schulz explained. “I think we’ll continue to offer a competitive water solution with Osseo buying all of their water from Maple Grove, but with more opportunities for conservation efforts and things like that.”

Schulz and his wife, Kerstin, have three businesses in town. A chiropractor by trade, Schulz is passionate about expanding Oseo’s financial and growth opportunities.

“The small businesses are the vehicle that brings people from Osseo to non-Osseo,” Schultz said. “We’re giving businesses more opportunities to start and stay in Osseo because we’re so affordable compared to other areas.”

Residents are encouraged to share their grievances with the City Council.

Schulz said he wants to be an effective leader for Oseo’s nearly 2,700 residents and asks citizens to voice their opinions on issues that matter most.

“Anyway, contact us,” Schulz said. “Our e-mails are on the website. . . . If you have ideas for us, we welcome your ideas. . . . We’re here to help.”
