In a path-breaking move, renowned Indian designer Archana Kochhar showcased popular social media influencers. The designer will present his latest collection at New York and London Fashion Weeks. She has engaged social media content creators for these events, a first in the fashion industry.

Who is registered?

Kochhar was roped in by Gaurav Taneja and his wife Ritu Rati Taneja for New York Fashion Week. The couple is based out of Delhi and has a popular YouTube channel called Flying Beast. Besides the couple, Mumbai-based lifestyle influencer Ashna Hegde will also walk the aisle.

For London Fashion Week, Nagma Mirajkar, a Mumbai-based entertainment influencer, will be showcasing.

The event

London Fashion Week, in association with Viviz World Fashion Week and the British Fashion Council, is scheduled to take place on September 17 at the Hyatt Regency London. Her collection is called ‘Le Gehna’, it shows the wedding trends in the modern world. The collection fuses western silhouettes with traditional Indian embroideries in vibrant colors, innovative cuts and textures.

On the other hand, New York Fashion Week in collaboration with the association is scheduled for September 11. This event will be held at the Hall of Mirrors. Kochhar showcases her collection ‘Jharokha’ which brings sustainability to the world of fashion. This collection includes traditional handlooms and western cuts. Home textiles handpicked by women from rural villages in Madhya Pradesh form the highlight of this collection.
