MILAN, Sept 25 (Reuters) – Italian designer Giorgio Armani presented a flashy spring/summer collection for his eponymous flagship line at Milan Fashion Week on Sunday.

The 88-year-old fashion veteran opened the show with “Fil d’Or” (Golden Thread), a light colored look in sand and pale gray. Models wore long jackets and flared trousers to match golden bags and trainers.

He then turned to different shades of blue with ruffled tops and long skirts over pants, a variety of both cropped jackets and beaded gilets paired with flowing skirts.

Many of the designs feature glittery embellishments. For the finale, the models wore many golden evening gowns with shimmering skimpy tops or skirted dresses.

“I can’t make an outfit without at least one sequin,” Armani joked to reporters about the brilliance in the collection.

“A few years ago, it was out of place to wear clothes with pastels during the day, now it’s accepted. The main thing is to dress well,” he said, repeating that the main theme of the collection is “simplicity”. “.

Models mainly wore flat shoes.

“This collection is inspired by other worlds, although it is very Armani,” the designer told reporters.

Armani unveiled the latest collection for its second line, Emporio Armani, on Thursday.
