Effortlessly chic Linda Fargo, Bergdorf Goodman’s SVP of fashion and store presentation, is listing her beloved Sutton Place home.

The style icon co-op at 14 Sutton Place South is on the market for $1.29 million.

The 10th floor apartment comes with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and lots of pre-war details, all in a building designed by Rosario Candela that dates back to 1929.

“Crossing First Street and getting to Sutton is like New York,” Fargo told Gimme Shelter, adding that she looked at more than 100 apartments before finding this one. “It also has a European feel, with a beautiful mix of eras and buildings, river views, wide streets and local family-run cheese, meat, fish and wine purveyors.”

The dining room has a wood burning stove and high ceilings. It is next to the eat-in kitchen.

The house opens into a foyer that leads to a large living room with original herringbone wood floors.

Both bedrooms come with en-suite bathrooms. The master bedroom has two large bedrooms and the second bedroom has been converted into a den.

“Candela’s position is bright and thoughtful,” Fargo added. “There is a perfect sense of flow between public and private space, and the scale is perfect. High ceilings, thick walls and floors, solid doors and lots of closets.

A new relationship prompted the move — but, she tells us, she’s staying strictly within the ‘code. (She also calls Sutton Place the city’s best-kept secret, saying the room costs twice as much if it’s downtown.) The building also comes with a rooftop garden, gym, central laundry and storage.

The listing broker is Doug McCullough of Corcoran.
