A technology challenge to demonstrate student skills in South Paris

SOUTH PARIS — Oxford Hills Technical School plans to hold its 12th annual Oxford Hills Tech Challenge on Tuesday, January 11 at 256 Main St. at the school at 2:30 p.m.

The Tech Challenge is a showcase event where students from 21 career and technical programs participate in skill-based competitions and demonstrations for parents, community members and others.

Among the contests and demonstrations are mock-up building, movie making, vehicle testing, vehicle painting, welding, pipe design, t-shirt design, PLC programming, chili baking contest, bicycle painting, cookie contest, wood burning, chainsaw precision, computer troubleshooting and coding. Giving, business planning, vacation planning, window display, cube house and yard designs, ECE Jeopardy, dramatic design, crime scene courtroom scenario, poetry contest, union health displays, and electrical presentation.

As the competition is continuous and simultaneous, the public can visit different programs as long as they can.
